Alex Sharp

**Alexander Ian Sharp**, known as **Alex Sharp**, is an English actor renowned for originating the role of Christopher Boone in the Broadway production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. He is also recognized by a wider audience for playing Will Downing in 3 Body Problem. Born around 1989, Sharp's unique upbringing involved traveling throughout Europe and the Southwestern United States in a caravan before settling in east Devon, England, at age eight. His parents, a teacher and a real estate worker, played key roles in his eclectic education. His formative education, described as both rigorous and unorthodox, was provided mainly by his mother who homeschooled him. His passion for acting showed at an early age, with his acting debut at age 4 and his role as Piglet in Winnie-the-Pooh at age 7. Sharp later studied Performing Arts at Yeovil College in Somerset and attended Beaminster Comprehensive School in Dorset. In 2008, he travelled to North America where he sustained himself working as a carpenter, handyman, and often in call centers in Canada. His decision to seriously pursue his acting career came during his stay in Montreal, subsequently leading him to attend the prestigious Juilliard School in Manhattan, from where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. His acting career took off after this, bagging several awards for his roles, making him the youngest winner of the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play as of 2015, and leading him to star in numerous Films and TV shows.
