Ally Maki

Ally Maki Matsumura, known professionally as Ally Maki, is an American actress, model and former musician who has gained prominence for her extensive acting career. She was born and raised in Kirkland, Washington, and is a Yonsei, a fourth-generation Japanese American. Maki's career in the entertainment industry was kick-started at the tender age of 14, when she was scouted by a talent agent in Seattle. After this discovery, she moved to a communal home for artists in Santa Clarita, California, from where she joined Columbia Records to form the girl band, The Valli Girls. Maki began establishing her film and television career with performances in films such as Step Up 3D and The Family Tree, as well as TV series like The Big Bang Theory.

Maki soared to prominence for her portrayal of Jess Kato in the TBS comedy series Wrecked and landed the opportunity to lend her voice to Giggle McDimples in Toy Story 4. Her other notable performances include a recurring role in the series 10 Things I Hate About You, and a supporting role in Marvel's Cloak & Dagger. Aside from her acting career, Maki has significantly contributed to music, playing the keytar for The Valli Girls and taking DJ lessons at Freakbeat Records. Not just confined to acting and music, Maki in 2018 established the Asian American Girl Club, an apparel and lifestyle brand. She is also a proud mother, having given birth to her first child in August 2024.
