Amanda Plummer

**Amanda Michael Plummer**, born on March 23, 1957, is a renowned American actress known for her exceptional work on stage and in film. Her career highlights include roles in "Joe Versus the Volcano" (1990), "The Fisher King" (1991), "Pulp Fiction" (1994), and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (2013). Plummer's contributions to the stage earned her a Tony Award in 1982 for her performance in "Agnes of God", and she recently appeared in the third season of "Star Trek: Picard" (2023). A native New Yorker, Plummer was the only child of American actress Tammy Grimes and Canadian actor Christopher Plummer. From an early age, she attended the elite Trinity School and later the United Nations International School (UNIS). Eventually, she dropped out of Middlebury College to pursue her acting career at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. Over the years, Plummer's work in films such as "Cattle Annie and Little Britches" (1981), "The World According to Garp" (1982), "Daniel" (1983), and "The Hotel New Hampshire" (1984) has received critical acclaim. Her performances include Broadway shows such as "A Taste of Honey" (1981), "You Never Can Tell" (1986), and "Pygmalion" (1987). Her efforts not only facilitated a Tony Award but also applause from the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Boston Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Agnes in 'Agnes of God'. Furthermore, she is notable for her performances in many of Tennessee Williams' plays. Her extensive connection with television also won her an Emmy Award on two occasions. Plummer continued to delight fans with her performance as a former "tribute" in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (2013) and recently in the Netflix series "Ratched"(2020).
