Andrew Roane Dick, popularly known as Andy Dick, was born as Andrew Thomlinson on December 21, 1965. He is an American actor and comedian, who commenced his career in the field of improvisational theater. Over the years, Dick earned a name for himself within the comedy circuit with numerous appearances across the U.S., along with several comedy albums to his credit. His career in television and film started with his role on 'The Ben Stiller Show' on Fox. Dick gained significant fame with appearances on NBC's NewsRadio and as a supporting character on 'Less than Perfect'. He also had two short-lived television series on MTV; 'The Andy Dick Show' and 'The Assistant'. Yet, what people often remember him for are his performances on Comedy Central Roasts, stand-up comedy performances, and late night talk show appearances.

Within his personal life, Dick has been known for his eccentric behavior and drug addiction problems. His numerous encounters with law enforcement due to his drug addiction and allegations of sexual misconduct have often overshadowed his work. He has been open about his struggles, stating that he had undergone drug rehabilitation programs twenty times by 2016. By 2022, following conviction for a 2018 offense, he was ordered to register as a sex offender. Despite these ongoing personal challenges and controversies, Dick has managed to maintain a fairly consistent career in comedy.
