Anthony Zerbe

Anthony Jared Zerbe (born May 20, 1936) is an American actor renowned for his extensive work spanning several decades in film and television. Notable film roles include the post-apocalyptic cult leader Matthias in The Omega Man, and the corrupt gambler in Farewell, My Lovely. He shined as Abner Devereaux in Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park and displayed his versatility by lending his skills to the James Bond universe in Licence to Kill. His commendable work doesn't stop at films; he has been part of many landmark television series. In 1976, he received an Emmy for his role in the private detective series Harry O.

Zerbe was born in Long Beach, California to Catherine (née Scurlock) and Arthur LeVan Zerbe. A graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, California, he served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1961. His acting career took off after studying at the Stella Adler Studio in New York City. His first New York City stage appearance was in The Cave Dwellers. Passionate about theatre, Zerbe also acted as artistic director of Reflections, A New Plays Festival in Rochester, New York. Softening the edges of his robust acting career are his personal endeavors which include his marriage to Arnette Jens and raising two children.
