Art Hindle

Arthur Hindle, commonly known as Art Hindle, is a prolific Canadian actor and director with an extensive career that began in 1971. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he had a tumultuous upbringing, with his time split between his divorced parents and foster homes, before eventually settling in Bowmanville and later The Beaches area of Toronto. Prior to embracing his passion for acting, Hindle worked as a model, primarily for catalogues from prominent Canadian companies Simpsons-Sears and Eaton's, and also employed as a stockbroker. His debut in the movie industry was through a significant role in the biker movie, The Proud Rider. This was the launchpad for his career, securing him subsequent roles in numerous movies and television programs across North America.

Hindle's breakthrough came in 1971 when he starred as Billy Duke in Face-Off. Although he initially resisted offers from Hollywood, a professional dry spell forced him to relocate to Los Angeles in 1974, a move that proved beneficial as it led to remarkable roles in films such as Black Christmas, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Porky's. Hindle’s versatility has seen him transition seamlessly across genres, equally commanding in horror, comedy, and dramas. He starred in the popular Canadian TV series, North of 60, in the 1990s, and also ventured into directing, notably for the award-winning series Paradise Falls. Considered a stalwart of Canadian cinema, Hindle's unwavering dedication to his craft underscores a career that continues to thrive well into the present day.
