Ashlie Atkinson

Ashley Elizabeth "Ashlie" Atkinson, born on August 6, 1977, is an American character actress renowned for her work in movies, television, and theater. She is well known for her intriguing roles as Mamie Fish on The Gilded Age, Amanda in 'And Just Like That', Connie in the Spike Lee film 'BlacKkKlansman', and Janice in the fourth season of 'Mr. Robot'. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, by a doctor father and nurse mother, Atkinson graduated from Pulaski Academy and later moved to Hendrix College, where she earned her degree in theatre arts. She continued to perfect her craft at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City, where she studied the Meisner technique. Atkinson's acting career effectively took off after a 2004 guest-starring appearance on Law & Order, which was directed by Jace Alexander who discovered her during a showcase at the Neighborhood Playhouse School. She has since starred in many TV shows and movies, notably playing Helen in Neil LaBute's 2004 play Fat Pig, for which she earned a Theatre World Award and received nominations for both a Lucille Lortel Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. Additionally, Atkinson has starred in Broadway plays, appeared in the Martin Scorsese's film The Wolf of Wall Street, and performed noteworthy roles in numerous TV series such as Boardwalk Empire, 30 Rock, and Fosse/Verdon. Away from acting, Atkinson is a former skater and long-time member of the Gotham Girls roller derby team and has featured in music videos and video games. In 2015, she married Leon Chase and publically came out as queer.
