Benjamin Bratt

Benjamin Bratt descended on December 16, 1963, is a prominent American actor. He garnered limelight for his magnificent portrayal of Paco Aguilar in 'Blood In Blood Out.' His noteworthy supporting roles in 1990s movies, including 'Demolition Man' in 1993, 'Clear and Present Danger,' and 'The River Wild' both in 1994, added more feathers to his cap. Bratt gained international fame from 1995 to 1999 for starring as Detective Reynaldo Curtis on the popular NBC drama series 'Law & Order.' In 2000s, Bratt expanded his horizon and was featured in various successful movies including 'Miss Congeniality,' 'Traffic,' 'Piñero,' 'Catwoman,' 'Trucker,' 'Despicable Me 2,' 'Snitch,' and 'Coco'. Bratt's importance in television is also palpable, and he was featured on ABC's 'Private Practice' as Dr. Jake Reilly, Steve Navarro on '24: Live Another Day', and Jahil Rivera on 'Star'. His contribution can also be seen in animated feature films. Apart from acting, Bratt has shown an interest in activism as he was involved in the 1969 Native American occupation of Alcatraz, which was led by young San Franciscans and aimed to raise national awareness on issues around Native Americans. Before his acting career, Bratt had a solid educational background. A third of the five offspring of nurse Eldy Banda and Sheet metal worker Peter Bratt Sr., he was born in San Francisco, California. Earning a B.F.A at the University of California, Santa, Santa Barbara in 1986, Bratt's interest in acting could not keep him in the M.F.A program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and he decided to leave before acquiring his degree to feature in the 1987 television film 'Juarez.' He started his career on a high note with critical acclaim for starring in the television film 'Juarez.' Despite occasional dips at the box office, Bratt successfully etched out his site in the television world - with commendable roles in 'Knightwatch,' 'Nasty Boys,' and later series 'Frasier,' 'Modern Family,' '24: Live Another Day', 'DMZ', and 'Poker Face.'
