What's After the Movie
Born as William Warren Bush on November 7, 1935, **Billy Green Bush** is typically known for portraying good-ol'-boy characters such as Sheriffs and state troopers, though he occasionally plays villains. As a skilled film actor, his career took off with appearances in The Savage Seven (1968), Five Easy Pieces (1970), Monte Walsh (1970), and The Jesus Trip (1971) to mention a few. His performance in Electra Glide in Blue (1973) was lauded by critics who branded his screen persona as *'irrepressibly unique'*. He brought life to characters in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974), Mackintosh and T.J. (1975), and continues to captivate audiences in The River (1984), The Hitcher (1986), and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993). Billy also had success on television, with a recurring role as Bobby Angel on Hill Street Blues and an episode of M*A*S*H where he played 'Cowboy', a character who tries to kill a commanding officer. His portrayal of Vernon Presley, Elvis Presley's father, was well received in the 1988 TV movie *Elvis and Me*, and then the weekly series *Elvis* in 1990. In his personal life, Billy Green Bush is the father of twins Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush, retired child actresses, and actor Clay Greenbush.
