Bono

Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known by his stage name Bono, is an internationally acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter, activist, and businessman. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the rock band U2. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Bono attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School where he met his future wife, Alison Stewart, and began his musical journey. He rose to prominence in 1976 as the frontman for U2, and his passionate vocal style and songwriting have contributed significantly to the band's success and longevity. Bono's songwriting often includes social and political themes, with his lyrics frequently harnessing religious imagery inspired by his Christian beliefs.

Alongside his music, Bono has been recognized worldwide for his activism and humanitarian work. He is particularly recognized for his tireless campaigning to fight extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa, co-founding organizations such as DATA, EDUN, the ONE Campaign, and Product Red. Despite the high praise for his humanitarian efforts, Bono has not been immune to criticism, such as for tax avoidance allegations.

Outside music, he has ventured into business, investing in a hotel in Dublin and leading a private equity firm. He has also worked artistically, drawing and painting frequently, and has appeared in film projects. Despite his highly public life, Bono is recognized for maintaining a strong private family life with his wife, Alison, and their four children.
