**Peter Brett Cullen** (born August 26, 1956) is an **American actor** best known for his roles in popular series like Falcon Crest, The Young Riders, The West Wing, Lost, Make It or Break It, Person of Interest, and Devious Maids. Born to Catherine and Lucien Hugh Cullen, part of one of the wealthiest oil families in Texas, Cullen graduated from the University of Houston in 1979 and was later awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012. He credits his acting success to his mentor at University, Cecil Pickett, who also mentored other Houston-born actors Dennis Quaid and Brent Spiner. Cullen's acting career has included roles in The Incredible Hulk, Tales from the Crypt, V, Matlock, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, amongst many others. He's also had recurring roles in series like Damages, The Gates, and Person of Interest. Following Cullen's successful roles on television, his film career includes notable roles in Kevin Costner's Wyatt Earp, Something to Talk About, The Replacements, Ghost Rider and romantic comedy Monte Carlo. He also featured in the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises and the remake of Red Dawn. In 2011, he was named the official spokesman for Houston Works, a job training and placement initiative. With his career extending over four decades, Cullen has become a versatile actor in Hollywood. His roles have ranged from western series to romantic comedies, showing his diverse acting skills. Most recently, he played Thomas Wayne in the 2019 film Joker.
