**Chanté Adams** is an accomplished American actress, born on December 16, 1994. She is well-recognized for her breakout role in the 2017 biopic, _Roxanne Roxanne_, a performance which won her the Sundance Special Jury Prize for Breakthrough Performance. A native of Detroit, Michigan, she began her acting journey as a student at Cass Technical High School. She later expanded her skills by obtaining a degree from Carnegie Mellon University's prestigious School of Drama. Following graduation, she pursued her dreams in New York City. In a whirlwind turn of events, Adams was invited to audition for the lead role in the Roxanne Shanté biopic just a month after relocating to the Big Apple. She not only landed the role, but started filming merely eight days later. Apart from _Roxanne Roxanne_, Adams has made her mark in screen work, featuring in movies such as _Monsters and Men_ (2018), _Bad Hair_ (2020) and _The Photograph_ (2020). In 2021, she shared the screen with the esteemed Michael B. Jordan in the romantic drama, _A Journal For Jordan_, directed by none other than Denzel Washington. In 2022, she had a co-starring role in Amazon's television adaptation of _A League of their Own_, alongside D'Arcy Carden, Abbi Jacobson, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, and Priscilla Delgado.
