Chukwudi Iwuji is a renowned Nigerian-British actor, best known for his collaborations with James Gunn as well as his significant contribution as an Associate Artist for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Born on October 15, 1975, Iwuji has marked his prominence in the entertainment industry by portraying Clemson Murn / Ik Nobe Lok in the HBO Max show Peacemaker and joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as The High Evolutionary. The actor was part of a diplomatic family from Nigeria and moved to Ethiopia when his parents joined the United Nations. He was educated in England and the United States, attending Caterham School, Yale University, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After his education, Iwuji moved back to the United Kingdom to pursue his acting career. He started his theatre career at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2001, securing roles in major plays like Julius Caesar, Hamlet, and Coriolanus. He also starred in New York's Public Theater and worked with well-known theaters like the Royal National Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse. Apart from theatre, Iwuji has appeared in various TV shows like Doctor Who, The Underground Railroad, The Split, When They See Us, and Designated Survivor.
