Daniel Dae Kim

*Daniel Dae Kim* (born August 4, 1968) is an American actor with a prolific career. He is best known for his roles as Jin-Soo Kwon in *Lost*, Chin Ho Kelly in *Hawaii Five-0*, Gavin Park in *Angel*, and Ben Daimio in *Hellboy*. Kim has also lent his voice to animated roles, including Chief Benja in *Raya and the Last Dragon* (2021) and Johnny Gat in the *Saints Row* video game series. Kim owns and manages a production company called 3AD, which produced the television series *The Good Doctor*. Born in Busan, South Korea, Kim moved to the United States when he was one and primarily grew up in New York City, Easton and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He holds a BA from Haverford College and an MFA from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. After graduation, he landed numerous roles on popular TV series such as *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation*, *Star Trek: Voyager*, *Star Trek: Enterprise*, *Charmed*, *The Shield*, *Seinfeld*, *NYPD Blue*, and *ER*. Kim first gained mainstream prominence from 2004 to 2010, playing a regular role on ABC's *Lost*. From 2010 to 2017, he starred in CBS's reboot of *Hawaii Five-0*. He has also been active in film and theater, with roles in *The Divergent Series: Insurgent* and a Broadway run in *Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I*. More recently, Kim has moved into production, with his company 3AD producing the ABC series *The Good Doctor*. He also joined the cast in its second season. In his personal life, Kim has spoken out against Asian-American discrimination in the US and has criticized the xenophobia associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
