Danny McBride, born as Daniel Richard McBride on December 29, 1976, is an acclaimed American actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer. He has earned recognition in the industry with nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and four Satellite Awards. His on-screen career spans a variety of popular HBO television series including Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals, both of which he co-created with frequent collaborator Jody Hill, and The Righteous Gemstones, created by McBride himself. His filmography includes standout roles in films such as The Foot Fist Way (2006), Hot Rod (2007), Pineapple Express (2008), and Alien: Covenant (2017). He also lent his voice to animation roles for films like Despicable Me (2010) and Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011).

Born in Statesboro, Georgia, McBride had an interesting childhood with his mother, who performed sermons in church using puppets, influencing his knack for storytelling.
