**Dominic Bernard Patrick Luke Monaghan**, a British-Irish actor is best known for his roles as Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's film trilogy _The Lord of the Rings_ (2001–2003), and Charlie Pace on the ABC television drama _Lost_ (2004–2010). Born on 8th December 1976 in West Berlin, West Germany, Monaghan started his acting career in 1994, landing his initial roles in TV dramas such as _Hetty Wainthropp Investigates_. His big break arrived with Peter Jackson's _The Lord of the Rings_ trilogy which propelled him to global fame and acclaim. Further recognition came with his role in ABC's hit show _Lost_ where he played a former rockstar and drug addict. He also starred in films like _X-Men Origins: Wolverine_ and _Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker_, reuniting with J.J. Abrams, the co-creator of _Lost_. His love for nature also led him to host the nature programme _Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan_ from 2012 to 2016. In addition to acting, Monaghan is also a contributing writer for the music and culture magazine, Paste and the voice of Sightseeing Manchester's bus tour. An avid nature enthusiast, Monaghan has also been involved in activities like tree planting and maintaining a personal collection of exotic pets.
