Dominic Bernard Patrick Luke Monaghan, a British-Irish actor is best known for his roles as Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's film trilogy The Lord of the Rings (2001–2003), and Charlie Pace on the ABC television drama Lost (2004–2010). Born on 8th December 1976 in West Berlin, West Germany, Monaghan started his acting career in 1994, landing his initial roles in TV dramas such as Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. His big break arrived with Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy which propelled him to global fame and acclaim. Further recognition came with his role in ABC's hit show Lost where he played a former rockstar and drug addict. He also starred in films like X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, reuniting with J.J. Abrams, the co-creator of Lost. His love for nature also led him to host the nature programme Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan from 2012 to 2016.

In addition to acting, Monaghan is also a contributing writer for the music and culture magazine, Paste and the voice of Sightseeing Manchester's bus tour.
