Dorothy Lyman (April 18, 1947) is an American television actress, director, and producer. She is most renowned for her work on Gwen Frame on Another World, Opal Sue Gardner on All My Children, Rebecca Whitmore on Generations, and Mama's Family as Naomi Harper. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lyman got her start in 1971 with her first ever soap opera, A World Apart. Over the years, she has demonstrated immense talent and adaptability, featuring on The Edge of Night, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Generations. Her performances in All My Children as Opal Sue Gardner led her to win two Emmy Awards. In addition, Lyman played Naomi Harper on the popular sitcom Mama's Family for six seasons, often balancing this role alongside her character on All My Children. Beyond acting, Lyman has also worked behind the camera, producing and directing numerous episodes of the hit sitcom, The Nanny.
