Ed Speleers

**Edward John Speleers** or **Ed Speleers**, an English actor, notable for various roles in television and film. His acting career began with his lead role in the 2006 film _Eragon_, a cinematic adaptation of Christopher Paolini's book. After playing Eragon, Ed appeared in various television series and films, notable roles include antagonistic character Stephen Bonnet in the popular _Outlander_ TV series and Jimmy Kent in the critically acclaimed _Downton Abbey_. He also appeared as Rhys Montrose in the well-received fourth season of _You_ and Jack Crusher in the third season of _Star Trek: Picard_. With a decorated acting career spanning over 15 years, Ed's contributions to the film industry have earned him critical acclaim. Born in Chichester, England, of Belgian descent, Ed's interest in acting was apparent from his younger days, performing in school and writing a play (which would later be performed at his college). His film and television career started booming in 2006, keeping him consistently active in the industry to the present day. Between 2006 and 2020, he immersed himself in various roles ranging from fleeting appearances on TV miniseries to lead roles in movies, and even developing a penchant for producing short films. More recently, in 2024, he co-starred in the romantic comedy _Irish Wish_ and starred in two short films, _Deadline_ and _Fudge Sundae_. Ed's tremendous versatility as an actor is evident throughout his impressive career span.
