Emile Hirsch

**Emile Davenport Hirsch**, an American actor born on March 13, 1985, has had quite a notable acting career. Hirsch's portrayal of Chris McCandless in 'Into the Wild' (2007) brought him widespread acclaim and fetched him several nominations. Some of his other notable roles include 'The Girl Next Door' (2004), 'Lords of Dogtown' (2005), and 'Alpha Dog' (2006). Born in the Palms section of Los Angeles, Hirsch's mother, Margaret Esther (née Davenport), is a visual artist, teacher, and pop-up book designer, while his father, David Milton Hirsch, is an entrepreneur, manager, and film producer. In the late 1990s, Hirsch began his acting career with television roles. He made his cinematic film debut with 'The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys' (2002) and followed this up with a string of successful films. Hirsch played a gay-rights activist Cleve Jones in Gus Van Sant's biopic 'Milk' (2008) and also starred in 'Taking Woodstock' (2009), based on a screenplay of the Elliot Tiber memoir. A multi-talented personality, Hirsch has also tried his hand in music. He released his first album 'Mnemonic' under the name 'Hirsch' on October 25, 2019. On the personal front, Hirsch is of German Jewish, English, and Ulster-Scot ancestry and is a proud father of a boy.
