Emma Jill Appleton is an English actress and model who was born on 11th December 1991. Born and raised in Witney, Oxfordshire, she attended West Witney Primary School and then Wood Green School where she developed an interest in drama at an early age. Appleton began her career as a model in her teenage years, appearing in campaigns for Victoria Beckham, The Kooples, Margaret Howell and DAKS, and advertising brands like Fred Perry, Toni & Guy, Rimmel, and Converse. Her acting journey started in 2016 with the short film, Dreamlands where she played the character Pixie. This was followed by her recurring role as Fay Brookstone in the BBC Three thriller, Clique. She also made guest appearances in the Channel 4 comedy-drama The End of the F***ing World and a single episode of ITV detective drama, Grantchester. In 2018, Appleton appeared in the National Geographic anthology Genius, playing a part in the story about Picasso, portrayed by Antonio Banderas. Her breakthrough came in 2019 when she was cast in her first lead role as Feef Symonds in the Channel 4 spy thriller Traitors, which catapulted her into more significant roles such as Princess Renfri in the Netflix fantasy series, The Witcher. Appleton has had leading roles in several films, series, and miniseries including LOLA, Intergalactic, and Pistol. She continues to act and is reportedly cast in 2023's Paramount+ legal thriller The Killing Kind, acting opposite Colin Morgan.
