Eric Martin Andrew Banadinović AM, known professionally as Eric Bana, is an Australian actor, comedian, producer, and director who was born on 9 August 1968 in Melbourne, Victoria. He started his career in the sketch comedy series Full Frontal before gaining recognition in The Castle (1997). His subsequent role in biographical film Chopper (2000) and as the Hulk (2003) further solidified his standing.

After a decade of roles in Australian TV shows and films, Bana grabbed Hollywood's attention with his performance in war film Black Hawk Down (2001). He further starred in epic Troy (2004), Spielberg's thriller Munich (2005), played villain Nero in Star Trek (2009), and portrayed Lieutenant commander Erik S. Kristensen in Lone Survivor (2013), among others. Born to a Croatian father and a German mother, Bana is proud of his European heritage. He is also a motor racing enthusiast and has participated in various competitions in Australia. Bana has used his platform to support various charitable organizations and was appointed Member of the Order of Australia in 2019.
