Eva Marie Saint is an esteemed American actress, born on July 4, 1924. With a career spanning almost eight decades, she has won an esteemed Academy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, with additional nominations for a Golden Globe Award and two British Academy Film Awards. Known as the oldest living and earliest surviving Academy Award-winner, she is one of the few remaining stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. She attended Bowling Green State University and launched her career as a television and radio actress in the late 1940s. One of her best early credits includes originating the role of Thelma in Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful which won a Tony Award. She made her impactful film debut in Elia Kazan's On the Waterfront, earning her widespread fame and an Academy Award. As her career progressed, Saint appeared in various roles in films such as Raintree County, A Hatful of Rain, and North by Northwest. She continued her movie roles into the 1960s and shifted her focus back to television in the 1970s and subsequent decades. In her personal life, she was married to Jeffrey Hayden till his demise in 2016 and they share two children.
