Freya Allan

Freya Allan (born 6 September 2001) is a renowned English actress, widely recognized for her impactful role as Princess Cirilla of Cintra in the globally acclaimed Netflix series, The Witcher. Her performance in this role earned her nomination for two Saturn Awards. She has manifested her versatility by playing young Sam in the 2021 film Gunpowder Milkshake and the younger version of The Widow in the AMC series Into the Badlands. Not just that, she also portrayed Mae in the 2024 film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Born and raised in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, Allan attended Headington School in Oxford. She embarked on her acting journey with short films such as Bluebird and The Christmas Tree produced by National Film and Television School and played Linda in the short film Captain Fierce produced by Bournemouth Film School. Allan started her TV career with a minor role in the first episode of the 2019 BBC drama The War of the Worlds and simultaneously graced the front cover of Schön! magazine amidst their 10th-anniversary celebration. She first appeared as Ciri in the Netflix original series The Witcher, alongside co-stars Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra. She had initially been cast for a minor role in the first episode, but was later reprised as a main character – Ciri. To commit to her role in the series, Allan lived in Budapest, Hungary for eight months, where the first season was filmed. She continued her character in The Witcher's second season which was released in 2021 on Netflix. For her phenomenal performance, she was nominated for Best Performance by a Younger Actor on a Television Series at the 2021 Saturn Awards. In more recent work, Allan stars as Mae, a young woman who accompanies the lead actor Owen Teague, in the 2024 film, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
