**Genevieve Lemon** (born 1959) is an Australian actress and singer known for her appearances in several Australian TV series and international films. Her frequent collaborations with Jane Campion have been quite well-received, with films such as the Academy Award-winning _The Piano_ (1993) and _The Power of the Dog_ (2021) earning her a Satellite Award and a Critic's Choice Awards nomination. Also known for her roles in soap operas like _The Young Doctors_, _Prisoner_, and _Neighbours_, Lemon's career also entwines with numerous musical and stage productions. The 2008 original Australian stage production of _Billy Elliot the Musical_ even saw her winning the Helpmann Award for Best Leading Actress. Born at the Crown Street Women's Hospital, Sydney, New South Wales in 1959 to film editor Anthony Cripps Lemon and actress Patricia Mary O'Donnell, she spent her early years involved with amateur theatre company 'The Rock Players' before attending the University of New South Wales, graduating in 1982. Her professional career started in the same year, starring in soap operas, musicals, stage productions, and films. She won several awards for her numerous performances, including a nomination at the AACTA Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role for _Sweetie_. Pivotal TV roles including _The Flying Doctors_, _G.P._, and _Neighbours_, with stage performances in critically acclaimed productions including _Summer Rain_, _The Venetian Twins_, and _The Girl Who Saved Everything_. Including numerous recognitions and awards, she continues performing in both stage and screen with her recent work included in Jane Campion's project _The Power of the Dog_ and recurring roles in series like _Eden_ and _The Tourist_.
