Hasan Minhaj

Hasan Minhaj, born on September 23, 1985, is an American comedian, writer, producer, actor and television host. His unique comedy style is reflective of his Indian heritage and tackles the contemporary political landscape of America, employing clever use of satire, observational comedy, and dark humor. Minhaj gained recognition for his work in the satirical news program, The Daily Show between 2014-2018 as a senior correspondent. Media in 2019, named him among the 100 most influential people in the world. His first stand-up comedy special, Homecoming King, released on Netflix in 2017, was received well critically and secured him a Peabody Award in 2018. He stopped working for The Daily Show in 2018 to host his own weekly comedy show, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, on Netflix. This show also won him his second Peabody Award and two Webby Awards.

Minhaj, in 2014, voiced Rabi Ray Rana in the video game Far Cry 4 before joining The Daily Show as a correspondent. Subsequently, he gained attention for his set at the 2016 Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner, especially for his forthright criticism of the United States Congress' lack of action in passing gun control legislation. He spoke at the 2017 White House Correspondents' Dinner where he humorously skewered the Washington, D.C. society, national politics, and the American media.
