Hector Elizondo

**Héctor Elizondo**, born December 22, 1936, is an American character actor recognized for his roles in notable television series and films. He is famously known for playing Phillip Watters in 'Chicago Hope' (1994–2000), and Ed Alzate in 'Last Man Standing' (2011–2021). His filmography includes 'The Taking of Pelham One Two Three' (1974), 'American Gigolo' (1980), 'Pretty Woman' (1990), 'The Princess Diaries' (2001), and 'Valentine's Day' (2010). Elizondo has received numerous awards, including an Obie Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, two ALMA Awards, and has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Satellite Award, among others. Born in New York to Puerto Rican parents, Elizondo demonstrated talent for sports and music at a young age. He began his acting studies during 1962–63 at the Stella Adler Theatre Studio, and had his first major success playing 'God' in the play 'Steambath', for which he won an Obie Award. Elizondo has since starred in various feature films and TV series, and has a strong professional relationship with director Garry Marshall. He is also known for his voice-acting roles, most notably as Bane in Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman. Elizondo continues his successful acting career, last guest voicing a character on the ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ in 2023.
