Henry Thomas

**Henry Jackson Thomas** is an acclaimed American actor, who began his career as a child star. His breakout role came in 1982 when he played Elliott Taylor in the cult classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. This performance earned him a Young Artist Award and nominations for Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Saturn Award. Over the years, Thomas has demonstrated his acting prowess in other notable films like Cloak & Dagger (1984), Fire in the Sky (1993), Legends of the Fall (1994), Suicide Kings (1997), All the Pretty Horses (2000), Gangs of New York (2002), 11:14 (2003), and Dear John (2010). He was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the television film Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1997). In recent times, Thomas has forged a formidable collaboration with filmmaker Mike Flanagan, contributing to films like Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016), Gerald's Game (2017) and Doctor Sleep (2019) as well as TV series like The Haunting of Hill House (2018) and its follow-up The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020). In 2023, Thomas starred in The Fall of the House of Usher, also directed by Flanagan. Beyond his acting career, Thomas is a talented musician and songwriter, who was part of a San Antonio-based band called The Blue Heelers in the 1990s. He wrote and played guitar for the band and even had his songs featured in a few film soundtracks. Despite his early rise to fame, Thomas has admitted to struggling with the popularity that followed his success in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
