**Irène Marie Jacob**, known famously as Irène Jacob, is a decorated French-Swiss actress born on 15th July 1966. She became prominent due to her collaboration with the Polish film director, Krzysztof Kieślowski, capturing the esteemed 1991 Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for the film 'The Double Life of Veronique'. Her prolific acting credentials also include a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for 'Three Colours: Red' in 1994. Some of her other well-recognized films encompass 'The Secret Garden' (1993), 'Beyond the Clouds' (1995), 'U.S. Marshals' (1998), and 'Eternity' (2016). Irène's craft wasn't limited to the big screen - her impeccable portrayal in theatre captured audiences' hearts as she played the title role in Madame Melville alongside Macaulay Culkin in London's West End in 2000. She also appeared on television, featuring in the Showtime series 'The Affair' in its 3rd season in 2016. With fluent proficiency in French, English, German, and Italian, her linguistic prowess is as compelling as her theatrical achievements. Irène's acting journey started in the Louis Malle film 'Au revoir les enfants' (1987), portraying the character of a piano teacher.
