Jaboukie Young-White

**Jaboukie Young-White**, born on July 24, 1994, is an American comedian, actor, and writer. He was born to Jamaican immigrants and raised in Harvey, Illinois. Young-White developed an interest in performing arts early on, becoming actively involved in Speech and Theatre at Marian Catholic High School. He then attended DePaul University where he delved into improv comedy, working with the collegiate improvisation program "The Titanic Players". However, he left DePaul during his final year to fully engage in his rising comedy career. At the age of 19, he performed stand-up for the first time at an open mic night. Following this, he performed extensively in bars and clubs around Chicago and New York City, making a distinct name for himself within the comedy scene. His career took off when some of his social media posts went viral in late 2016, gaining him significant recognition on platforms like Twitter and Instagram. His talents haven't gone unnoticed with him being featured on Rolling Stone's "25 Under 25" list in 2017, Vulture's "20 Comedians You Should and Will Know" list in 2018, and BET's "Future 40" list in 2020. He has also taken on roles behind the scenes, writing for popular Netflix shows like Big Mouth and American Vandal. He has also made a mark in acting, appearing in films like Dating and New York and TV series like Only Murders in the Building. Notably, in 2022, he voice acted in Disney+ series Baymax! and starred in the Disney animation feature *Strange World*. Beyond his acting, comedy, and writing feats, he's also ventured into music, releasing his debut single in 2022 and a studio album in 2023.
