James Marsters

James Wesley Marsters, born on August 20, 1962, is an American actor, musician, singer, comic book writer, and audiobook narrator. He burst into the limelight for his role as the British punk vampire Spike in The WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off, Angel. He was not limited to these roles, going on to diversify into voiceover work, notably for the Funimation dub of the Dragon Ball franchise, Lex Luthor in Superman: Doomsday, and other roles in a variety of TV shows, movies, and video games.

Marsters was born in Greenville, California, growing up with dreams of the acting world. He studied at Allan Hancock College and the Juilliard School and launched his acting career in Chicago in 1987. Despite a successful acting career, he never forgot his musical roots, playing in bands and solo throughout his life and even forming a rock band known as Ghost of the Robot. In his personal life, Marsters has a son with his ex-wife Liane Davidson and raised his niece from the age of five. Plus, he was married to Patricia Jasmin Rahman from 2011 to 2021.
