Jamie Jilynn Chung, known professionally as Jamie Chung (Korean: 정지린; RR: Jeong Jirin), was born on April 10, 1983 and is an accomplished American actress. Chung first emerged in the public eye in 2004 as a cast member on the MTV reality series The Real World: San Diego and following this, on its spin-off series, Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno II. Her successful transition from reality television into acting has distinguished her as a Real World alumna with the most successful media career. She is known for her roles in films including Dragonball Evolution, Grown Ups, Premium Rush, Sorority Row, The Hangover Part II, Sucker Punch, and Big Hero 6. Chung has also been critically acclaimed for her performance in the independent drama film Eden and has appeared in a variety of TV series.
Chung’s early life was spent in San Francisco, California, where she was born and raised by 'traditional' Korean-American parents. She studied Economics at the University of California, Riverside and graduated in 2005. Chung's acting career spans from minor roles on television and films to major onscreen roles, such as the series lead role in the ABC Family television miniseries Samurai Girl. She has consistently expanded the diversity of her career with work ranging from Rihanna's 'Umbrella' music video to the voice of GoGo Tomago in Disney's Big Hero 6. Her contribution to the film industry has been recognized with awards such as the Female Stars of Tomorrow Award at the 2009 ShoWest industry trade show and the Golden Space Needle Award for Best Actress for Eden at the 2012 Seattle International Film Festival.
