Jane Colburn Levy is a renowned American actress born on December 29, 1989 in Los Angeles, California. She kick-started her acting career at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and quickly made a notable debut as Mandy Milkovich on the Showtime comedy-drama Shameless in 2011. However, Levy left Shameless after its first season to lead the ABC sitcom Suburgatory from 2011 to 2014. Proving her versatility as an actress, she transitioned to film and worked with director Fede Álvarez as the lead of horror films Evil Dead (2013) and Don't Breathe (2016). Levy later returned to television, playing series regular roles on Hulu’s There's... Johnny! (2017) and the horror fantasy Castle Rock (2018), in addition to headlining the Netflix thriller miniseries What/If (2019). From 2020 to 2021, she portrayed the title character of the NBC musical comedy-drama Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Her talents were expanded beyond acting; she was part of the hip-hop dancing team as well as the captain of her high school soccer team. Despite facing obstacles such as significant depression during her college years, Levy showed resilience by opting to focus on her passion for acting and later graduated from Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City.
