Javier Gutiérrez

Javier Gutiérrez Álvarez is an acclaimed Spanish actor, best known for his various roles in both film and television. Born on 17 January 1971 in the Asturian parish of Luanco, he has an illustrious career that spans nearly two decades since his cinematic debut in 2002. Notably, he garnered popularity for his sidekick role as Satur in the television series Águila Roja. In 2014, his performance in the crime thriller 'Marshland' catapulted him to widespread acclaim and recognition. He has since proved his mettle in movies such as The Motive, Champions, The Daughter, and Prison 77 and television series Estoy vivo and Vergüenza, earning him two coveted Goya awards for Best Actor. Gutiérrez's early life was split between his birthplace Luanco, and Ferrol, Galicia, where he moved when he was about a year old. His initial aspirations led him to Madrid at age 19, where he began his career in stage acting with performances in plays like La tinaja and La cabeza del dragón, being a part of the theatre group Animalario. He entered the world of television in 2000 and later marked his footprint in the film industry with his performance in The Other Side of the Bed, a musical comedy released in 2002. He garnered much popularity for his portrayal of the character Satur in the adventure series Águila Roja between 2009 and 2016. This role has been recognised as the most charismatic of his career.
