Jeremy Irons

Jeremy John Irons is an English actor and activist, renowned for his roles both onstage and onscreen, and has earned numerous accolades including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award. He is one of the few actors to have achieved the 'Triple Crown of Acting' in the US, having won awards for Film, Television, and Theatre. Irons undertook classical training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and began his acting career onstage in 1969. He has since starred in renowned West End theatre productions and on Broadway. His film career breakthrough came with The French Lieutenant's Woman in 1981, and he continued to feature in significant productions such as The Mission and Dead Ringers. Notably, his portrayal of Claus von Bülow in Reversal of Fortune earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. He has also voiced the role of Scar in Disney's The Lion King and Alfred Pennyworth in the DC Extended Universe franchise. In his television career, Irons had a break-out role in the ITV series Brideshead Revisited. Irons's activism includes serving as the Goodwill Ambassador for the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization.
