Jessica Amy Barden, an actress from England, started her journey in acting as a child. She is best recognized for her portrayal of Alyssa Foley in the Channel 4 comedy-drama The End of the F*ing World, which featured from 2017 to 2019. For her sterling performance in Scarborough (2018), she was nominated for a British Independent Film Award. Barden's diverse film credits include Hanna (2011), The Lobster (2015), The New Romantic (2018), and Pink Skies Ahead (2020). On the small screen, she has featured in the Foxtel drama Lambs of God (2019), Pieces of Her, a Netflix thriller in 2022, and the ITV romantic comedy You & Me in 2023.

Barden was born into a working-class background on 21 July 1992 in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. She got into acting through school and her father's passion for film. She started going to a local drama club and working as a television extra when she was young. After leaving school, Jessica made her acting debut in 1999 on the CITV series My Parents Are Aliens. She became a part of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street when she was 14, playing Kayleigh Morton till 2008. After her successful journey in soap opera, she made her film debut in Mrs Ratcliffe's Revolution (2007). Barden's career kept on flourishing as she got numerous roles in various films, also earning the honor of being named a 2015 Screen International Star of Tomorrow and 2018 BAFTA Breakthrough Brit. For her personal life, she married Jungleland director Max Winkler in March 2021 and they have a daughter together.
