Jodhi May is a distinguished English actress, born in either 1975 or 1976, best known for her stellar performances across film and television. She commenced her career as a child actress, earning the distinction of being the youngest recipient (at age 12) of the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival for 'A World Apart' (1988). May has an impressive array of credits, starring in films such as 'The Last of the Mohicans' (1992), 'Sister My Sister' (1994), 'Aristocrats' (1999), and semi-historical movies like 'Tipping the Velvet' (2002), 'The Other Boleyn Girl' (2003), 'The Amazing Mrs Pritchard' (2006), and 'I, Anna' (2011). She has demonstrated her versatile talents in TV series projects such as 'Moving On' (2018) and 'The Witcher' (2019).

Born to a French-Turkish mother, an art teacher, and a German father, May attributes her love for film to her godfather, film producer Alain Poiré. Educated at Camden School for Girls and Wadham College, Oxford, May displayed her acting prowess at the tender age of 12. She went on to portrayed varied and complex roles, including Alice Munro in Michael Mann's 'The Last of the Mohicans', Lea Papin in 'Sister My Sister', and Lady Sarah Lennox in 'Aristocrats'. In 2018, she branched out into writing, contributing to and appearing in the TV series 'Moving On'. In 2019, she took on the role of Queen Calanthe in Netlfix's adaptation of 'The Witcher'. In 2022, she appeared in Marco Simon Puccioni's film 'The Invisible Thread', alongside Valentina Cervi, Francesco Scianna, and Filippo Timi.
