What's After the Movie
Jonathan David Bass, born on July 1, 1976, is an English former professional footballer initially known for his tenure as a full back with Birmingham City. His career with the team commenced in 1994 when he signed on as a trainee, later playing in the Blues' League Cup semi-final against Leeds United in 1996. Bass claimed the position of Birmingham's first-choice right-back for the 1997-98 season. However, a decline in performance led him to lose this position to Jerry Gill towards the season's close, and the subsequent acquisition of Gary Rowett from Derby County in August 1998 saw Bass being marginalized in the team. Over the next three years, his appearances for Birmingham were infrequent and interspersed with loan spells such as at Gillingham in 2000. Upon the conclusion of the 2000-01 season, he was released from his contract having made 68 league appearances for Birmingham. Bass' professional journey continued with various spells at teams such as Hartlepool United, Pahang FA in Malaysia, and Bristol Rovers. His stint with professional football concluded post his release by Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2005–06 season. Thereafter, he ventured into the family business as a quantity surveyor. However, he maintained a connection with the sport, playing on a part-time basis with Salisbury City from July 2006.
