**Joseph Francis Mazzello III**, also known as **Joe Mazzello**, is a renowned American actor. Born on September 21, 1983, Mazzello is recognized for his sterling performances in several major a-list productions. These include his role as Tim Murphy in *Jurassic Park*, Roarke Hartman in *The River Wild*, Eugene Sledge in the HBO miniseries *The Pacific*, Dustin Moskovitz in *The Social Network*, and Queen bass player John Deacon in the biopic *Bohemian Rhapsody*. Born and raised in Rhinebeck, New York, Mazzello is the offspring of Virginia (née Strong) and Joseph Francis Mazzello Jr., one-time owners of a dance studio. He gained entry into the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts in 2001 courtesy of a recommendation from legendary director *Steven Spielberg*. Beginning his film career with a small role in *Presumed Innocent* in 1990, Mazzello burst into the limelight following his celebrated portrayal of Tim Murphy in Spielberg's 1993 blockbuster *Jurassic Park*. Mazzello carved out a niche for himself as a lead character with roles in *Star Kid* in 1997 and *Simon Birch* in 1998. His foray into television began in the early 2000s with appearances in successful shows like *Providence*, *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation* and *Without a Trace*. Mazzello took a step behind the lens with his directorial debut in 2007, in the short film *Matters of Life and Death*. His portrayal of Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz in the film *The Social Network* in 2010 earned him critical acclaim and several award nominations.
