Kit Young

Kit Young, whose real name is Christopher William Young, is a British actor born in 1994. His career commenced in theatre, subsequently leading to a nomination for an Ian Charleson Award. Following his theatre beginnings, Kit transitioned to television, starring notably as Jesper Fahey in the Netflix fantasy series Shadow and Bone from 2021 to 2023. His exceptional performance in the horror film Out of Darkness in 2022 earned him a Scottish BAFTA. Some of his other filmography includes The School for Good and Evil in 2022. Kit was born in Oxford to a Scottish father and a Ugandan mother. His upbringing took place in Abingdon-on-Thames, during which time he attended Abingdon School from 2008 to 2013. His involvement in school productions ignited his passion for acting. Subsequently, he joined the National Youth Theatre, followed by training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2017. After RADA, Kit's career took off with a leading role in The Extraordinary Cabaret of Dorian Gray at the 2017 Underbelly Theatre Festival in South Bank. He gained prominence with the UK tour of The Real Thing as Billy and continued his theatrical journey with roles in various productions. His television debut was in Endeavour in 2019, and he also appeared in the short The Devil's Harmony. Kit was part of the renowned Netflix series Shadow and Bone in 2021, earning him widespread acclaim. His list of future projects includes film roles in The Origin and the forthcoming Netflix adaptation of The School for Good and Evil.
