What's After the Movie
**Lance Henriksen** is an iconic American actor known for his contributions to the science fiction, action, and horror genres. Born on May 5, 1940, in Manhattan, New York, Henriksen has risen to prominence through roles such as Bishop in the Alien film franchise, Frank Black in Fox television series Millennium (1996–1999), and The X-Files (1999). He has also shown notable talent in voice acting, demonstrated in his work for the Disney film Tarzan (1999) and popular video games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and BioWare's Mass Effect trilogy (2007–2012). Other noteworthy film credits include The Right Stuff (1983), The Terminator (1984), Color of Night (1994), Powder (1995), Scream 3 (2000), and Appaloosa (2008). A challenging childhood shaped Henriksen's resilience: his parents divorced when he was two, and he spent parts of his childhood in foster care. He later served in both the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and the U.S. Merchant Marine. Henriksen's career truly began when he worked as a muralist and laborer on ships. Despite leaving school after the first grade and being illiterate until age 30, the actor self-taught himself to read. His acting journey started with his involvement in set design for a theatre production and quickly escalated from there.
