Lori Tan Chinn is an American actress and comedian making remarkable contributions to the world of acting since 1970 to the present. Born on July 7, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, Chinn is of Hoisan Chinese descent, and moved to New York City by herself in 1969, marking a significant point in her life. Her acting career flourished as she embraced the Broadway platform with full determination. A notable role of hers was Miss Higa Jiga in the Broadway play, 'Lovely Ladies, Kind Gentlemen' in 1970. Apart from acting, Chinn was also a respectable member of the Katherine Dunham Company where she performed African dance along with Syvilla Fort, a magnificent combination of her diverse talents. Coming to the present day, she played a recurring character in the Netflix series 'Orange Is the New Black', displaying her natural prowess in acting on the screen. Currently, she stars as Awkwafina's grandmother on Comedy Central's 'Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens' aired from 2020 till its projected end date in 2023.
