Lorraine Ashbourne

Lorraine Ashbourne, born on 7th January 1961, is an accomplished English actress held in high esteem in both television and theatre circles alike. Raised in Manchester, England, her early pursuits were strongly arts-focused, attending Wilbraham High School and engaging in the local Stretford Children's Theatre. Further honing her acting skills, Ashbourne was an active member of the University of Manchester Stage Society and Manchester Youth Theatre, finalizing her dramatic education journey at the Webber Drama School from 19th April 1982.

Ashbourne's acting career, spanning from 1987 up till the present, is decorated with a variety of recognisable roles in British series and television films such as Playing the Field (1998), Unforgotten (2017), and Grantchester (2017) among others. Additionally, she held prominent roles in theatre productions at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, including portrayals like Kate Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer and Emilia in Othello, starring alongside her husband, Andy Serkis. As recent as 2024, Ashbourne has enthralled global audiences with her performances in I Hate Suzie and After the Flood.
