Louise Latham born on September 23, 1922, was a significant American actress. She was most recognized for her portrayal of Bernice Edgar in Alfred Hitchcock's 1964 film, Marnie. Born in Hamilton, Texas, Latham was part of a family of ranchers and attended the Hockaday School in Dallas. Her career spanned numerous roles on television and film, further demonstrating her versatility. Most of her work was televised, with appearances on Perry Mason, The Waltons, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and other popular shows at the time. Latham notably played Olivia's Aunt Kate on The Waltons. Her film debut in Hitchcock's Marnie proved a turning point in her career. She stated that 'Marnie changed my life, satisfied my soul'. Apart from films, her Broadway credits included the 1956 revival of Major Barbara, Invitation to a March (1960), and Isle of Children (1962). She also performed under the personal direction of Margo Jones in Theater '54 in Dallas, Texas.
