Ludivine Sagnier

Ludivine Sagnier, born on 3 July 1979, is a renowned French actress. Having begun her career in 1989, she has remained active in the acting realm since then. Sagnier was born in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, in the département of Yvelines, France to a retired secretary mother and a professor father. Her acting journey began at the tender age of nine with her debut film 'Les Maris, les Femmes, les Amants', directed by the acclaimed Pascal Thomas. Over the early 1990s, she took on various small roles and worked under notable directors like Alain Resnais and Jean-Paul Rappeneau.

In 1994, Sagnier started training at the Versailles Conservatoire, where she even won a prize in classical music. However, her passion for acting brought her back to the cinema. She saw immense success with directed films by François Ozon, which included the much-loved musical comedy '8 Women' (2002). Sagnier's powerful performances have often earned her nominations and awards. She has starred in a variety of films, from Peter Pan where she portrayed Tinkerbell, to the crime thriller Mesrine: Public Enemy No.1. Recently, Sagnier has ventured into TV shows, playing Esther Aubry in 'The Young Pope' (2016) and reprised the role in 'The New Pope' (2020). Currently, she plays Claire in the French thriller series 'Lupin'.
