Maciej Stuhr

Maciej Jerzy Stuhr, born on 23 June 1975, is a multifaceted Polish actor, comedian, and occasional film director. In the year 2022, he was honored with the prestigious Polish Academy Award for Best Actor. In 1999, Stuhr made a significant shift in his career path by graduating in psychology from the Jagiellonian University followed by delving deep into acting at Kraków's National Academy of Theatre Arts, which he completed in 2003. He is particularly acclaimed for his uncanny impressions of renowned Polish actors and performers, such as Gustaw Holoubek. He later founded the cabaret Po Żarcie, where he penned down most of the material. His stellar performance in Władysław Pasikowski's drama film Aftermath in 2013 earned him the Polish Film Award for Best Actor. **Stuhr's notable acting roles include Kuba Brenner in 'Boys Don't Cry' and Piotr in 'Decalogue X'.** In 2006, he shared hosting duties with Sophie Marceau at the 19th European Film Awards held in Warsaw. Since 2008, Stuhr has been an integral part of Nowy Teatr, led by artistic director Krzysztof Warlikowski. This year also saw him bagging the Zbigniew Cybulski Award for the best young actor. On the personal front, Maciej is the progeny of actor Jerzy Stuhr and violinist Barbara Kóska. He has roots tracing back to Lower Austria in 1879.
