Makenzie Leigh is a noted American actress, best known for her roles as the protagonist's romantic interest in Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016). She was born on August 8, 1990, in Dallas, Texas. After graduating high school, Leigh moved to New York where she studied dance ballet and later enrolled at New York University to study writing. She took an acting class to better understand characters, a move that ultimately led her to become a renowned actress in the American film industry. Her earliest significant role was as Liza in the first season of the Batman prequel television series Gotham (2014–2015). Her performance earned her a significant following and paved the way for more prominent roles. A year later, she landed a regular role as a babysitter in the 2015 television miniseries The Slap, which was a remake of an Australian series bearing the same name. Leigh continued to expand her acting portfolio by taking on a supporting role opposite to Christopher Abbott in James White (2015) and later played a small part in an Amazon series titled Mozart in the Jungle. Her role as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Faison Zorn in Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016) turned heads and further cemented her standing in Hollywood. Recently, on August 30, 2021, Leigh was announced to be appearing as Susan Norton in an adaptation of Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot for Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.
