Mandy Patinkin

Mandel "Mandy" Bruce Patinkin, born November 30, 1952, is an honored American actor and singer known for his work across musical theatre, television, and film. His collaborations with giants of the industry, such as Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber, have won him critical acclaim. His numerous accolades include a Tony Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, along with nominations for seven Drama Desk Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Patinkin made his theatre debut in 1975, sharing the stage with Meryl Streep in a revival of the comic play 'Trelawny of the Wells' at The Public Theatre's Shakespeare Festival. This marked the start of a prolific career with lead roles in numerous successful productions, including 'Evita', 'Sunday in the Park with George', 'The Secret Garden', 'Falsettos', and 'The Wild Party'. Patinkin has also had major roles in television shows, such as 'Chicago Hope', 'Criminal Minds', 'Homeland', and he voiced characters in Hayao Miyazaki's 'Castle in the Sky' and 'The Wind Rises'. Some of his best-known film roles include 'The Princess Bride' and 'Yentl'. Patinkin is also a classically trained singer; his discography includes multiple solo albums and cast recordings.
