Marion Bailey

Marion Bailey is an English actress, born on 5 May 1951. She has gained recognition for her work with filmmaker Mike Leigh, featuring in several of his films including 'Meantime' (1983), 'All or Nothing' (2002), 'Vera Drake' (2004), 'Mr. Turner' (2014), and 'Peterloo' (2018). Her performances have garnered critical acclaim, and she was nominated as Supporting Actress of the Year by the London Film Critics' Circle for her role in 'Mr. Turner'. Furthermore, she portrayed Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in the third and fourth seasons of 'The Crown' on Netflix, winning a Screen Actors Guild award for best ensemble in 2020 and 2021. Beyond her collaborations with Leigh, Bailey's career spans across film, television, and theatre with notable appearances in 'Nasty Neighbours' (2000), 'I'll Be There', and 'Toast' (2010). In addition, she co-starred with Ben Whishaw in the 2023 short film 'Good Boy', which was shortlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
