**Michael Ian Black**, originally born as **Michael Ian Schwartz** on August 12, 1971, is an American actor, writer, and comedian. His dynamic career has spanned various fields of entertainment, with noteworthy roles and contributions in several TV comedy series such as 'The State', 'Viva Variety', 'Stella', 'Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp', 'Michael & Michael Have Issues', and 'Another Period'. His early work also includes voice acting and puppetry for the Pets.com sock puppet dog in the late 90s and early 2000s, and a supportive character on the TV series 'Ed'. From 2008, he broadened his career further by becoming a prominent author of books, including titles aimed at young readers.
