Miya Cech, also known by her birth name Miyako Cech, is a talented young American actress. She was born on March 4, 2007, in Tokyo, Japan and was adopted at five weeks old. She grew up in Davis, Northern California, forming the third of four internationally adopted children. Her acting journey began as a child model where she featured in commercials for Gap, Ralph Lauren, Skechers, and Gymboree which set the stage for her professional acting career. Miya made her acting debut in a 2015 episode of the CBS police procedural Hawaii Five-0. She gained further recognition due to her roles in popular series such as American Horror Story and American Housewife.

Her first widely-acclaimed performance was in the 2018 film 'The Darkest Minds' where she played the intriguing character of Zu, a mute girl with the ability to manipulate electricity. Following this, she continued to steal the limelight with her roles in 'Rim of the World', 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?', 'The Astronauts' and 'Marvelous and the Black Hole' which collectively cemented her reputation as a fine young actress. Her performance in the Netflix film 'Always Be My Maybe' played a significant role in making it her most well-known film role according to Variety. Cech's quiet, confident swagger and her ability to breathe life into diverse characters have earned her praise from critics. In one of her upcoming ventures, she will be playing Toph Beifong in the Netflix live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender.
